Oh, Flip Flops- How do I love thee, let me count the ways...

I suppose my love affair with flip flops began when I was a child. The sound of rubber flopping against my skin with every step as I walked was so invigorating that I sometimes made sure to flop extra loudly to ensure everyone in the house heard me coming. As I grew up, my love affair was re-kindled when I discovered the $3 flip flops available at Old Navy every summer. At that price, it was nothing to throw down 20 or 30 bucks on flip flops, just so I would have a pair in just about every color I could imagine wanting to wear the whole summer long. Now, however, it's the feel of a nicely worn in, perfectly contoured pair of flops that I appreciate more than the flop sound. The comfort of a nice fit makes me smile every time. Personally, I find it very difficult to be sad wearing flip flops.
